The cast members of ‘Tiger King’ have recently revealed that a follow-up season on the docu-series is coming soon on Netflix.

It looks like the ‘Tiger King’ is coming back for more after taking the world by storm when it released eight episodes on Netflix on 20 March 2020. The stars of the show have been teasing the release of season 2 on numerous occasions, and we’re more than excited to see the docu-series back.

We have heard rumors about a second season of the Netflix hit series months ago. Back in August 2020, BBC reported that Netflix has secured the rights for ‘Tiger King’ season 2.

Finally, almost a year after the reports, two of the stars from the show, John Reinke and James Garretson, have reignited the talks about season 2 through Cameo, a website where you can hire celebrities to create shout-outs, birthday greetings, or simply chat with.

Most of the Tiger King casts are available on the platform, and recently, James and John have been very active in completing requests from fans.

Tiger King Joe Exotic

John has been particularly explicit in revealing details about season 2, saying:

“I want to thank you guys for watching Tiger King and get ready, yup, believe it or not, there’s another season gonna come out pretty soon, so keep your eyes out for that,”

He added that he hopes that he will still be portrayed as a good guy in the upcoming season, saying, “I get to see it when you get to see it”.

Another Cameo video from James Garretson also teased that something is coming around March or April 2021. Although when What’s On Netflix reached out to confirm the dates, he responded with, “Yes, more to be out soon don’t know [the] exact date.”

‘Tiger King’  accompanied most of us during the pandemic, as the world went into lockdowns to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The docu-series featuring the eccentric Joe Exotic and Carole Baskins’ long-running feud was viewed by over 64 million households worldwide.

A bonus special episode hosted by Joel McHale landed on the platform on April 12th, 2020, shortly after the docuseries aired.

The success of ‘Tiger King’ has attracted the interest of many production studios, streaming platforms, and networks. Amazon Prime Video is producing a series starring Nicolas Cage. NBC is adapting the ‘Over My Dead Body’ podcast into a limited series. While Netflix is reportedly brewing another yet-to-be-confirmed title with Ryan Murphy based on the docu-series.

Tiger King Carol Baskin

Joe Exotic is currently facing a 22-year federal prison sentence for 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two charges of murder for hire after plotting to kill Carole Baskin.

In January 2021, Exotic’s legal team was hoping to get a last-minute pardon from Donald Trump before the former President left office.

Sadly this did not happen. There are still a lot of things to cover for season 2, including what the future holds after The Tiger King zoo permanently closed.

On the other hand, Carole Baskin might no longer be interested to appear in season 2. She expressed that she felt betrayed by the makers of the documentary. Baskin is also reportedly facing a lawsuit from the family of her ex-husband Don Lewis. Exotic alleges that Baskin murdered her second husband, Don Lewis, who disappeared in 1997 and is presumed dead.
